All authors must agree upon our ethical standards described in Publication Ethics (see pdf file).

Authorship responsibility

All members of the authors group must meet the criteria for authorship as defined in the Academic Article Preparation Information for Authors.

All authors should have made substantial contributions to all of the following: (1) the conception and design of the study, or acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data, (2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content, (3) final approval of the version to be submitted.

Group members and individuals not covered by the above criteria should be mentioned, with their agreement, in the Acknowledgements with an indication of the role they fulfilled in the research and in the preparation of the work for publication.

In the case of works prepared by more than a single author it follows to present the contribution of the individual authors in the creation of the work indicating the participation in: A – the preparation of the research project; B – the assembly of data for the research undertaken; C – the conducting of statistical analysis; D – interpretation of results; E – manuscript preparation; F – literature review. This should be noted in the upper index by the given author's name.

To prevent any misconduct in science (ghostwriting, guest authorship), the editorial board has introduced appropriate procedures.Ghostwriting is when someone has made a substantial contribution to the article, but neither their part as one of the authors has been disclosed, nor mentioned in the acknowledgments of the publication. Guest authorship is when the named author’s contribution is negligible or even non-existent, even though their name is listed as an author or co-author.

Manuscripts must be accompanied by copies of all permissions to reproduce published material, and reports regarding sensitive personal information of identifiable persons. Authors are responsible for the payment of any fees related to applying for these permissions.

Conflicts of interest statement

In the Journal Publishing Agreement authors are requested to reveal to the editors and describe any conflicts of interest (any financial and personal relationships with other people or organizations that could inappropriately influence (bias) their work) that the editors or readers would consider relevant to the presented research or other material.

The editors will hold this information in confidence, unless the paper is accepted. Then appropriate information can be published with the article.

Financial Disclosure Statement

In the Journal Publishing Agreement you are requested to identify who provided financial support for the conduct of the research and/or preparation of the article and to briefly describe the role of the sponsor(s), if any, in study design in the collection, analysis and interpretation of data; in the writing of the report; and in the decision to submit the article for publication. If the funding source(s) had no such involvement then this should be stated.

It is important to gather these details prior to submission because your financial disclosure statement cannot be changed after initial submission without journal approval. If your manuscript is published, your statement will appear in the Funding section of the article.

Policy of screening for plagiarism

The journal has a policy of screening for plagiarism. The authors must only present for publication their own original articles, which have not been published previously as a whole or in significant part of any other copyrighted content.

Authors must indicate (cite) publications that have been used in the creation of the article.

Publication procedure - the graph below presents how we proceed your paper from submission until publication

The quality control system - review procedure

  • All submitted manuscripts are reviewed initially by editorial staff and the author (indicated for correspondence) is informed as quickly as possible if the article can be processed for publication. The editors can ask for additional explanations and changes. The peer review process will not begin until the authors have complied completely with the submission requirements. Manuscripts with insufficient priority for publication are rejected promptly. Other manuscripts are sent to at least two independent expert consultants for double-blind peer review reviewers. List of the reviewers available on our website.
  • The authors of the work are not identified to the reviewers, neither are the reviewers made known to the authors. The review is presented in a written form with the indication as to inclusion for publication or not, as well as the inclusion of any suggestions as to possible corrections or changes to the work. The criteria for inclusion is indicated in (Review Form - see bottom of page). In case of contradictory opinions additional reviewers are sought.
  • The author of a work will be informed of the opinions and comments of the reviewers as well as any editorial staff suggestions and comments connected with the preparation for publication. A revised version, after the introduction of any required changes, should be sent to the editorial office. Authors should include a cover letter indicating which revisions have and/or have not been made. A satisfactory explanation is required if authors have not followed specific recommendations.
  • Articles accepted for publication are subject to a process of editing. Native speakers are asked to suggest linguistic improvements. After editing, if any substantial changes have been made, PDF proofs will be sent by e-mail to the designated corresponding author for approval.
  • The paper will appear online shortly after receiving corrected proofs in the forthcoming papers section. In printed version they usually appear in order of acceptance. Exceptions are made for papers of particular scientific significance, and for manuscripts which fully comply with editorial requirements given in the instruction for authors and require only minor changes.
  1. Only original reviews of Polish and foreign monographs, academic articles, and handbooks, as well as other types of academic and didactic papers, such as research reports, doctoral theses, and habilitation theses, will be accepted for publication.
  2. The Journal publishes reviews of papers on the theory of tourism and leisure, as well as papers that address tourism from the viewpoint of cultural anthropology, philosophy, sociology, geography, law, psychology, economics, management, marketing, and other academic fields and disciplines.
  3. Submitting a paper for publication is construed as transferring the copyright to the Editorial Office. This means that neither the review nor a part of it can be published in other journals or digital media without the Editorial Office’s written permission.
  4. The review should be prepared according to guidelines presented in the Academic Review and Polemic Preparation Information for Authors (see bottom of page).
  5. The review should be submitted to the Editorial Office’s e-mail address: This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
  6. The Editorial Team reserves the right to modify the style makeup of submitted reviews.
  7. The Author of the review will receive an electronic version of the Journal issue in which the review was published, free of charge.
